99¢ Ten Christmas Brides 99¢

Usually when we blog on eNovel the topic is all about ehow, ehow best to manage an indie career and  ePromotions, and talking about what works best for us and what does not. But October has thus far been a sensational month for eNovel Authors at Work members.  So, I’d like to share a few newsworthy events.

Two of eNovel’s savvy and prolific authors, Donna Fasano and Mimi Barbour teamed with eight other romance writers to produce a boxed set, Ten Christmas Brides. Launched yesterday, the omnibus is already on the ladder of Amazon TOP 100 Paid. USA Today has tagged the omnibus a ‘must read’. Almost 1,000 readers attended the FaceBook Extravaganza yesterday, vying for free books and gift cards offered by authors invited to participate. Book Partners in Crime Promotions organized the event and kept all of us visitors in our time slots–not an easy chore when authors and fans get together. Ten Christmas Brides is 99¢. Here is a neat idea: Amazon gift the set to your friends for stocking stuffers.

eNovel member Marsha Roberts just launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise  funds to promote Confessions of a Mutinous Boomer .  We are all watching and hoping for Marsha’s Success! Several of us have participated in ThunderClaps for exposure for New Releases or a Cover Reveal, but Indiegogo is about crowdsourcing to raise funds for a project.  In the past writers could often apply to the National Endowment of the Arts for funds to finish a ms or  hire editors, etc. But! Those funds are rare as hen’s teeth today, so writers appeal to the generosity of the public. Many are successful and their books are published on Amazon.

Julie Frayn and Joe B. Parr

Julie Frayn, author of Mazie Baby,  flew all the way from Western Canada to Dallas for a Revenge of the Indie Book Event at a two day book signing at Cafe Brazil in Richardson, Texas and wouldn’t you know? Julie connected with another eNoveller,  Joe B. Parr, author of The Victim, a stunning  investigative police procedural. The rest of us are suffering envy that two members got to meet while we are stuck in our lonely writer’s caves. Our members network every day, but always on the Internet and once in a while via Skype. Actually meeting another member face-to-face when we are scattered across four continents and in not less than fifteen time zones is beyond a treat.

Reminder: On the second Wednesday of every month, eNovel Authors are on tour with Book Partners in Crime Promotions. eNovel hosts the tour as well as JackieWeger.com/blog. It is easy to find and follow us for gift cards and free books. November 12th tour is #eNovAaW Ladies in Mayhem, Murder & Mystery. Our ladies knock it out of park! If you are a Blogger and would like to host eNovel, do sign up with BPiC. We would be delighted to meet your fans and followers. If you are an indie author, stay with us a few minutes and read the articles for lots of the latest and pertinent information that will help you to succeed in our ever -changing industry. Especially check out our author pages where many of us report the results on our promotions in comments. And, don’t overlook Useful links, where we post promotions sites that give us good value for our promo $$$.  You can sign up for our newsletter and unsubscribe at any time. The newsletter only lands in your mailbox when eNovellers have new releases, books FREE and discounted.

No Perfect Secret is FREE today through October 27.  Betrayed thrice over by her husband, Anna believes her imploded life will right itself if only she buys a dog. Investigator Frank Caburn has other ideas. Man to the bone and manufacturing testosterone like Frito Lay does chips, he is at once attracted to Anna. All he wants is to fall in love and be done with it. Anna Nesmith is the one. But how to tell her without tripping over a layer of lies is beyond him. Adding to Caburn’s woe are his elderly bosses–both of whom who plan to keep their jobs until the Rapture or the sun burns out—whichever comes last–a cross-dressing dominatrix with OCD, a purple haired hacker on parole, and Anna’s back-stabbing mother-in-law. Falling love has never been more difficult!

As usual, I never like to close a post without reminding indie authors you will not have to struggle for reviews if you put this golden gem at the back of your book right after THE END.

Thank you for taking time to read [title]. If you enjoyed it, please consider telling your friends or posting a short review. Word of mouth is an author’s best friend and much appreciated.

‘Til next time!

  5. Great article and thanks so much Jackie for including my IndieGoGo project along with the terrific achievements of so many here. Donna & Mimi, I got a kick out of attending your launch party last night and, again – congrats! And, by the way, Jackie, you mentioned Thunderclap. I plan to use that in the middle of my campaign to give it a boost.
Best to all on this fall Friday. Cheers!

  6. Pete Barber says:

What a positive, inspiring post, Jackie. I love to see other authors, especially those I e-know having success. Congrats, Donna & Mimi. Good luck Marsha. Thanks for taking the chance. It would be neat to meet one or more of you, but I’m not coming to Texas. last time I was in that state, I drove and drove and thought I’d never get out. . . Pete

    • Julie Frayn says:

I’m from Canada Pete – so Texas isn’t that big. LOL

    • Jackie Weger says:

Pete! I am so laffin’. It takes three days to drive across Texas–two if one does not stop for potty breaks. I have driven it several times. #eNovAaW members are hopping. We are promoting and we are selling our books. It takes a community of support and we have it. I know I’m ornery, pedantic and drive everybody nuts–but gosh! Look what we can achieve when we focus on our books. We have a fabulous mentor in Donna Fasano. She is always ahead of the curve.

  7. Jackie, the number of success opportunities that you have whipped up for eNovellers is dizzying! Congratulations to all of you in your recent events.

  8. Jackie,

What a great endorsement of the e Novel Authors at Work. Congrats to everyone on their accomplishments.

I am excited to share the news with my network that No Perfect Secret will be free through the 27th. I enjoyed the book immensely.

  9. Delene Yochum says:

Hi Jackie! Thanks so much for attending and being a guest host at Donna and Mimi’s launch party! I am sure the readers and fans that attended are very appreciative of your generosity in the giveaways during Mimi’s time slot yesterday! I learn something every time I host an event or Blog about an author, but I’ve always known that a writer cares about their fans. I’m truly blessed to be working in the promotion part of the book world.

  10. Tabitha Jones says:

Thanks so much for the kind words about us at Book Partners In Crime Promotions. Margaret, Delene and I are so thrilled working with each and every author getting their name and book out there. It was great having you Jackie as a guest at the party and look forward to seeing you more at them.

  11. Dale Furse says:
